Lab Overview

Master event-driven serverless processing on Google Cloud. Deploy a Cloud Run function (2nd gen), wire a Pub/Sub topic to it through an Eventarc trigger, and test the full event pipeline end to end.

This lab covers the event-driven serverless patterns tested on the Associate Cloud Engineer exam:

  • Deploying Cloud Run functions (2nd gen) with gcloud
  • Configuring Eventarc triggers that react to Pub/Sub messages
  • Granting service-account permissions so Eventarc can invoke the function
  • Testing the event flow by publishing messages to Pub/Sub
  • Inspecting function logs to validate trigger delivery and retry behavior
