Nomad Simple Cluster
Run a real Nomad cluster with one server and two clients, then deploy and scale a job.
Lab Overview
Nomad is a flexible workload orchestrator that lets you deploy and manage containerized or legacy applications through a single, unified workflow.
In this lab you'll stand up a simple Nomad cluster with one server and two clients using HCL configuration files (not dev mode). You'll then generate a job specification, run a Redis workload on the Docker task driver, monitor its allocation, and scale it out by increasing the task group count.
We suggest completing the Nomad Basics lab before this one.
What You'll Learn
Configure and run a Nomad server and two Nomad clients from HCL config files
Verify cluster membership with nomad server members and nomad node status
Generate a job specification with nomad job init and understand its structure
Deploy and monitor a Redis job running on the Docker task driver
Scale a running job by modifying its task group count with a safe check-index update
