Lab Overview
Deploy a Prometheus-instrumented application, configure the Ops Agent to scrape its metrics endpoint, and query the ingested custom metrics in Cloud Monitoring.
You will:
- Deploy a Python application that exposes Prometheus metrics on an HTTP endpoint
- Install and configure the Ops Agent with a Prometheus receiver to scrape application metrics
- Verify that custom metrics flow into Cloud Monitoring
- Query ingested metrics using gcloud monitoring commands
This lab teaches the observability workflow required for the Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer exam without requiring a GKE cluster.
