Lab Overview

Deploy an Amazon EKS cluster with AWS Fargate for serverless Kubernetes pod execution. You will create a Fargate profile, deploy workloads that run without managing EC2 instances, and compare Fargate with managed node groups.

You'll learn to:

  • Explore an EKS cluster and configure kubectl access
  • Create a Fargate pod execution role and Fargate profile
  • Deploy applications on Fargate and expose them with a LoadBalancer service
  • Compare Fargate (serverless, per-pod billing) with managed node groups (EC2-based, DaemonSet support)
