EKS with Fargate Profile
Deploy an EKS cluster with a Fargate profile for serverless Kubernetes, deploy workloads, and compare Fargate with managed node groups.

Lab Overview
Deploy an Amazon EKS cluster with AWS Fargate for serverless Kubernetes pod execution. You will create a Fargate profile, deploy workloads that run without managing EC2 instances, and compare Fargate with managed node groups.
You'll learn to:
- Explore an EKS cluster and configure kubectl access
- Create a Fargate pod execution role and Fargate profile
- Deploy applications on Fargate and verify connectivity to the running pods
- Compare Fargate (serverless, per-pod billing) with managed node groups (EC2-based, DaemonSet support)
Key Resources:
What You'll Learn
Configure kubectl to interact with an EKS cluster
Create a Fargate profile and pod execution role for serverless pod scheduling
Deploy a multi-replica application on Fargate and verify pod connectivity
Evaluate when to use Fargate vs managed node groups for EKS workloads
