Lab Overview

This hands-on lab teaches you to migrate from Crossplane v1.x patterns to v2.0 by converting Claims to namespaced XRs and implementing new operational workflows.

  • Configure XRDs for namespace-scoped resource isolation and multi-tenancy
  • Implement operational workflows using CronOperation for automated backups
  • Design event-driven automation with WatchOperation for resource monitoring
  • Compose non-infrastructure Kubernetes resources in v2.0 compositions
  • Test advanced v2.0 composition patterns with complete application platform stacks

Prerequisites

Completion of Crossplane 101 sections 1-7 (Claims, XRDs, Compositions)

Understanding of Kubernetes namespaces and RBAC concepts

Familiarity with database backup and monitoring concepts

Basic knowledge of cron syntax for scheduled operations
