Complete TaskFlow Stack on Kubernetes Lab
Deploy the complete TaskFlow application to Kubernetes: frontend (2 replicas), backend (3 replicas), PostgreSQL StatefulSet, and Redis. Organize with namespaces and verify end-to-end functionality.
Lab Overview
This is the capstone lab for Week 8 where you deploy the ENTIRE TaskFlow stack to Kubernetes. You'll create a dedicated namespace, deploy all four tiers with proper networking, expose the frontend via NodePort for local browser access, and verify the complete application works end-to-end.
You'll add logging to the backend showing database connection details to verify Kubernetes DNS service discovery, document all kubectl commands in a README, and celebrate seeing TaskFlow running entirely in Kubernetes for the first time!
What You'll Learn
Deploy PostgreSQL as a StatefulSet with persistent storage in a dedicated namespace
Deploy Redis and the TaskFlow backend with proper environment variable configuration
Expose the TaskFlow frontend with a NodePort Service for external access
Verify end-to-end connectivity across frontend, backend, and database tiers
Organize a multi-tier application using Kubernetes namespaces and resource labeling
