Lab Overview

Build an end-to-end AWS Backup strategy that mirrors real enterprise architectures. You will create backup vaults in two regions, define a backup plan with cross-region copy, configure a vault access policy to simulate cross-account backup sharing, run an on-demand backup, and restore the protected EC2 instance.

You'll learn to:

  • Create AWS Backup vaults with KMS encryption in multiple regions
  • Build a backup plan with lifecycle rules and cross-region copy
  • Use tag-based resource assignment to select workloads automatically
  • Configure a vault resource policy to grant cross-account access
  • Run an on-demand backup and verify recovery points in both regions
  • Restore an EC2 instance from a recovery point and verify the result
