Implement professional Terraform workflows with remote state storage and reusable modules. Configure S3 backend for team collaboration, implement state locking with DynamoDB, create reusable Terraform modules for common infrastructure patterns, and compose modules for complex deployments.
What You'll Learn
Configure an S3 backend and DynamoDB state lock table, then migrate local state to the remote backend
Implement state locking (S3 native lockfile via use_lockfile, with DynamoDB as a legacy option) and verify concurrent modification protection
Create a reusable VPC module with input variables and output values following the main.tf/variables.tf/outputs.tf structure
Create a reusable EC2 module and pass VPC outputs into it to demonstrate inter-module composition
Compose multiple modules in a root configuration and verify the full infrastructure deploys correctly
