AZ-104 Capstone: Operations Review and Remediation - Platform Engineering Hands-On Lab Icon

Lab Overview

Put your AZ-104 skills together in a troubleshooting capstone. You inherit a pre-deployed Azure environment that already contains deliberately broken settings, the kind administrators discover during a real operations review.

You will triage the environment and capture findings, then remediate an overly permissive and partially blocking network security group, a misrouted user-defined route, and a storage account with insecure transport and anonymous public access. You will also apply missing governance controls, confirm your changes with Azure Monitor metrics and the Activity Log, and complete an exam-style tradeoffs decision artifact. Checks validate the corrected goal state, not how you found it, so you are free to diagnose in your own way before applying fixes.

What You'll Learn

Triage a pre-deployed Azure environment and capture structured findings

Apply missing governance controls such as required tags and a resource lock

Remediate an overly permissive and partially blocking network security group

Correct a misconfigured user-defined route table next hop

Harden a storage account for secure transfer, TLS, and anonymous access

Confirm remediation with Azure Monitor metrics and the Activity Log

Justify exam-style availability, security, and cost tradeoffs in a decision artifact
