Vault-Kubernetes integration with sidecar injection and CSI provider
Configure Vault Agent sidecar injection and the Vault CSI Provider for two different patterns of injecting secrets into Kubernetes pods. Demonstrates production-grade Vault-Kubernetes integration that is directly applicable to any team running workloads on Kubernetes.
GitOps-integrated secrets management with ArgoCD
Set up Vault as the secrets backend for a GitOps pipeline managed by ArgoCD, ensuring that application secrets never land in Git while maintaining full GitOps workflow integrity. A critical pattern for teams adopting GitOps in regulated environments.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do the hands-on labs work in this course?
Vault 201 uses a GitHub Codespaces delivery model instead of the TeKanAid academy lab system. Each section comes with a GitHub repository that you fork and open in GitHub Codespaces — a fully configured cloud development environment that runs in your browser. Sam also provides recorded video walkthroughs demonstrating every lab exercise so you can follow along step by step. No local install is required and GitHub Codespaces free tier is sufficient for all labs.
Is this a beginner course or do I need prior Vault experience?
Vault 201 is intermediate level. You should be comfortable with Vault basics — authentication, policies, and secrets engines — before starting. Vault Associate 003 or Vault 101 are good prerequisite courses. Kubernetes familiarity is also important since the entire course focuses on Vault integration with Kubernetes applications.
How long does this course realistically take?
Most students complete Vault 201 in 4-6 weeks at 5-8 hours per week. The 30-lesson course is rated at 8 hours of video content but the lab exercises — working through sidecar injection, CSI providers, and ArgoCD integration — typically take 2-3x longer than the video time.
Do I need a Kubernetes cluster to follow along?
No. The GitHub Codespaces environment includes a local Kubernetes cluster (using Docker Desktop's embedded Kubernetes or kind) that is pre-configured and ready to use. Everything runs inside the Codespace — you do not need your own cluster or cloud account.
Are the labs current with the latest Vault and Kubernetes versions?
Yes. The GitHub repositories are updated when HashiCorp releases breaking changes to Vault or the Kubernetes integrations. The Codespaces environments pin specific versions of all tools so labs remain reproducible even when upstream versions change.
What happens when I cancel my subscription?
You lose access to the course lessons and video walkthroughs. The GitHub repositories are public so you retain access to the lab code. Your progress is saved and you can resume if you resubscribe.
What is the difference between Pro and Premium for this course?
Since Vault 201 uses GitHub Codespaces rather than the TeKanAid lab system, the hands-on labs are available to all subscribers. Pro and Premium both include full course access. Premium adds priority support and access to the broader TeKanAid lab library for other courses.

“I like the Crossplane 101 course a lot. I think it is one of the best online courses I have taken (and I've taken a lot in the last 2 years, transitioning into DevOps). The labs are phenomenal – every task has a long tutorial with lots of explanations, gotchas, and recaps, and you always provide the reasoning for implementing a certain solution.”
“I just completed the Crossplane 101 course! Managing infrastructure as Kubernetes resources is a total game-changer. A huge thanks to TeKanAid and Sam Gabrail for the incredible training and insights.”
“Although I've worked with Crossplane in real production environments, I always felt there were gaps in my understanding. Completing this course filled those gaps perfectly. I had to unlearn and relearn quite a few things, especially around Crossplane v2.0 concepts. Well structured and thoughtfully put together. Highly recommended for building a strong, foundational understanding of Crossplane.”
“Dear Sam, I hope this email finds you well. If you remember before the end of last year I register for one your courses Terraform 101 – Certified Terraform Associate, I must admit that I learned a lot even though I was not patient enough for all videos to be available. All in all I enjoy the way you structured the course and how you went through it. The main reason of this email, to send you my gratitude for the content you created and to let you know that I passed my exam/test last week.”

“This course was a perfect introduction to Terraform and Infrastructure as Code. Loved the gitpod, saving me a lot of time for developer environment setup. We have a project at work where we want to go from a click-ops version of server-deploy to a more automated flow using ci/cd and terraform for deploying virtual servers.”

“I want to thank you for such wonderful courses. They are more comprehensive than other courses I have taken in the past. You take the time to explain every detail of the code and what it does exactly, further enforcing your student's understanding and confidence in what they are learning. Your methods are very effective and set you apart from other instructors.”
