Explore the three pillars of observability - traces, metrics, and logs - with hands-on examples.
35 minutes
observability/opentelemetry

Lab Overview
This hands-on lab introduces you to the three fundamental telemetry data types in OpenTelemetry: traces, metrics, and logs.
You'll learn to:
- Generate and examine trace data with spans and context
- Create and view different metric types (counters, histograms, gauges)
- Produce structured logs with severity levels and attributes
- Understand how all three signals correlate through shared context
This lab builds foundational understanding of observability data types that you'll use throughout the rest of the OTCA certification course.
