Exploring Telemetry Data Types

This hands-on lab introduces you to the three fundamental telemetry data types in OpenTelemetry: traces, metrics, and logs.

You'll learn to:

• Generate and examine trace data with spans and context
• Create and view different metric types (counters, histograms, gauges)
• Produce structured logs with severity levels and attributes
• Understand how all three signals correlate through shared context

This lab builds foundational understanding of observability data types that you'll use throughout the rest of the OTCA certification course.
